Brandon & Jess’ Rainy Day Wedding

Welcome to the first #fbf post! I absolutely loved my 2017 wedding season, each couple brought something unique to the table for me to work with.

When I think of last year though, Brandon and Jess immediately come to mind. Weddings bring a lot of chaos, add in the unpredictable ways of Mother Nature, and you can have a recipe for a disaster. Their day started off with beautiful sun, but the rain storms rolled in just in time to ruin an outdoor ceremony planned at a gorgeous farm with a field of horses set as their backdrop.

What I remember most from their day is the grin Brandon wore from ear to ear. While guests and wedding party scrambled to figure out what to do, it was clear Brandon wouldn’t have cared if a hurricane came through, as long as he got to marry his girl.

They moved their ceremony into a barn and we listened to the rain patter against the roof as they exchanged vows.

Brandon and Jess are definitely couple goals when it comes to tackling moments that go against the original plan; I can’t thank them (along with their family and bridal party) for being so calm and flexible during an otherwise stressful time, and for being focused on what truly matters most.

Congratulations, guys!

Behind the Scenes 2017

2017 was a wild ride. As far as my photography business, it was one of my busiest years yet. In the midst of creating a new logo and a new website, I decided to hold off on blogging and instead focus on creating a new brand and connecting with my 2017 couples.

So while I plan to blog most of last years weddings in the next few weeks, here are some behind the scenes images. These are the people that go into making each wedding day perfect. I have an awesome team behind me, and they are part of the reason my business has become what it is today. There is no rhyme or reason to the editing of these photos, it was just whatever I was feeling at the time. Some of them are test shots, some of them are beautiful, most of them are silly — all of them include incredibly talented people who have become dear friends. Thank you all for making 2017 one of my best wedding seasons yet!

(You’d be surprised how many times Cyneé has held back a tree or pushed back branches and bushes to make a beautiful shot).

(Our last wedding together before Cyneé moved to Portland)

Bring it on, 2018!

Marc & Victoria’s Engagement

Marc & Victoria’s engagement at the Wharf in Bristol was definitely an adventure. We grabbed a drink and chatted about their wedding plans before wandering around town and strolling along the water. It was a gorgeous night. We even ran into Romeo, a sweet cockatoo that was kind of enough to jump in on some pictures. We walked well past sunset, and even grabbed some dessert from an ice cream truck. It was a perfect summer night.

I loved spending time with these two, and I’m so excited for their wedding next year!

Congratulations, Marc & Victoria!

Everlasting Loftus

Chris & Chrissy are hilarious – so I loved that I got to work with them. They had their wedding at Flourtown Country Club and kicked the day off with a first look; just the two of them letting the day soak in before diving in. They exchanged vows in the sun with beautiful cloudy skies, and danced the night away before a sparkler send off.
Favorite wedding moment: We raced golf carts – I’m pretty sure we all got a kick out of driving in the golf carts. But as far as actual wedding moments, I loved doing the bridal party portraits. They were such a fun group.

As you’ll notice in my favorites below, I also loved how hard their flower girl danced. She was on that dance floor from the very first song until the end of the night, and not once did she slow down!

Brandon & Meghan’s ~ Loft at Sweet Water

Meghan & Brandon had a gorgeous summer wedding at the Loft at Sweet Water. I was able to e-mail and video chat with them while they were planning their big day, and I knew I liked them instantly. When I finally was able to meet them face to face (on their wedding day) I felt like I already knew them. They were so laid back and fun to work with; couples like these two are the reason I adore my job.

My favorite wedding moment had to be the surprise fireworks at the end of the night! They were so grateful to all of their guests who came out and celebrated with them that they decided to treat them to a surprise firework show at the end of the night. It was wonderful!

Take a look at a few of my favorites from their day!
